Chief Mihsihkinaahkwa (Little Turtle 1747-1812) is honored in front of the Miamisburg Civic Center at 10 North First Street. He was a Sagamore of the Miami people, who was one of the most famous Native American military leaders. He was called the most capable Indian leader in the Old Northwest.

This photo is of Teddy Roosevelt, then a candidate for Vice President on the McKinley ticket, giving his campaign speech at Miamisburg's Hoover and Gamble Binder Works on North Riverview Avenue at the Sycamore Avenue bridge. Roosevelt was on his famous "whistle-stop" train tour in 1900.

The Great Mound in Miamisburg is a remnant of the Adena culture that emerged about 800 B.C. It is the tallest conical burial mound in Ohio and the United States. The first official survey in 1847 put the mound at 68 feet high and 852 feet in circumference. It is located at 900 Mound Avenue.

Built around 1811, the Gebhart Tavern was a popular spot for people to stop as their boats floated through Miamisburg on the Miami-Erie Canal. It was in operation until the canal closed.

After the 1913 Flood, Sherman "Cocky" Porter started his Hamburger Wagon to feed flood victims with his "secret recipe" burgers. After the city was cleaned up, the wagon was moved downtown where it has been ever since.
